Disneynature's "African Cats" Leaps Into Theaters TODAY

There are lots of things you can do to celebrate Earth Day today and have an impact on Africa. You could become a member of the African Wildlife Foundation, renew your membership, or spread the word about the need to conserve Africa's wildlife and wild lands.

But you can also go see the extraordinary True Life Adventure about family life on the African savanna and translate your moviegoing experience into real on-the-ground conservation action.

Narrated by Oscar-nominated Samuel L. Jackson with an end credit song by Jordin Sparks of American Idol fame, AFRICAN CATS leaps into theaters TODAY, Earth Day, April 22.

When you see AFRICAN CATS during opening week (April 22-28), Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to protect lions and cheetahs and the land they call their home.

When you go see AFRICAN CATS during opening week (April 22-28), you will be helping the Amboseli ecosystem, which stretches between Mt. Kilimanjaro, Chyulu Hills, and Tsavo West National Parks in Kenya. Field research over many years has documented that wildlife frequently use the community lands outside the Park boundaries and travel through the corridor that connects Amboseli with the Chyulu Mountains.

Protecting this area, the Amboseli Wildlife Corridor, is critical to the future of lions and other animals such as elephant, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, and eland. We encourage you to join with AWF, Disneynature, and the people that live in the Amboseli region to make this project a success--and take pride in helping to see that Africa’s lions and other imperiled wildlife will survive and thrive.
