Dear john,

You know better than most that Africa has wildlife and wilderness at a scale that exists nowhere else on earth. At the same time, Africa is changing very rapidly. It is clear that the Africa of 20 or 30 years from now will look very different from today. That’s why each year the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) continues to work at a scale that ensures a place for wildlife in the future of Africa.

Our Commemorative 50th Anniversary Annual Report features in-depth coverage of our work across the continent such as ongoing scientific research with bonobos in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the establishment of carbon offset programs in Tanzania, and the creation of critical habitat corridors for elephants in Zambia.

All of these stories and more are now available to you online, complete with interactive multimedia features like videos and helpful tips and links!

Each year we strive to take you closer and closer to our on-the-ground efforts in Africa. Your support was critical in achieving the 50 years of education and capacity building efforts also showcased in the report, and is very much needed in achieving conservation outcomes in our next 50 years.

Please enjoy the stories that demonstrate how working together, we can assist Africa develop while retaining a significant part of Africa’s wildlife legacy for the benefit of all humanity.

Sincerely,

Dr. Patrick J. Bergin
AWF CEO
